The draft of our PSA went good i think, we got some good angles of a particular scene. We've only filmed in the gym so far but the shots of the scene we got were decent I thought. We still have a lot to work on but i think with some more film practice we can make the final draft very good.

Our group is in the process of starting video production, we have not yet checked our cameras or equipment. We need to start recording some of the beginning scenes from the storyboard we completed earlier last week. What is working well for the group is that we can come to agreements very well and we all work well together. Only obstacles so far have been planning the entire PSA out, we still need to touch up some of the scenes so it transitions well.

So far the most challenging part of our PSA has been figuring out how to demonstrate both sides of pressure on a student athlete. The most challenging part is how to demonstrate them together and seperate, how one affects the other. We havents begun to film yet but our storyboard gave us a good outline on what our PSA is going to show. The storyboard was also challenging because we had no idea how to show pressure and have good transition between each scene.

Overall our groups pitch went ok, it wasn't very well thoughtout but we had at least had a pretty good idea of what we wanted to accomplish on pressure on a student athlete. Our message is a big interest to the public becuase there are so many student athletes, any student involved in sports from elementary to college. The target audience will be mainly middle school and high school students. the style will be clear so anyone in that target audience range can understand the PSA and take something positive from the PSA.

The point in making a PSA, is to inform the community of public interest and it also can be used to advertise a product. A PSA can raise awareness of a particular issue such as; public safety, drug use amongst teens, or public school concerns.
My PSA group have decided that we are going to inform people about pressure on a student-athlete. this was our first idea and it seemed to fit since each of our group memebers is a student athlete and we are constantly reminded of the definition of a student athlete. School first, then athletics comes second. We all came up with the idea since it is something we all have in common and we have all gone through this.

What I've learned from the MTN presentations
I have learned from the MTN presentations that an average commercial or informercial has many different shots and even the same shot but from a different angle. Ranging from a close-up to a reflection of the same object. Different angles can project objects in unique ways. Matching shots are important as well, you can't have someone wearing different clothes in the same shot, even if shot at different times.
I plan on using a PSA about being active and exercising at home.
Media Literacy is important because when you work with media, you should understand everything about it. why this shot is at this angle and with this lighting. To be able to analyze and critique video's and in all sorts of media.
